Artist Statement:

My artistic journey entered a new phase when I came to Germany in 2009 and delved deeper into exploring cultural overlaps and differences. It was then that I began to weave ancient Persian forms and traditions with elements of the complexities of life in Berlin. For me, a connection between past and present.

The sobering chaos of iconic Persian patterns always returns in one way or another. Sometimes it dominates a work, sometimes it is a note in the background that slightly changes the atmosphere. I like to play with elements of paradox, seemingly symmetrical and harmonious, but ultimately human in its essence. I have chosen to express myself in both form and color, while interacting with story and narrative. I use these components to expand my culturally open approach to the viewer, confronting them mainly with queer and non-heteronormative masculine identities. In recent years, I have also increasingly turned to political, social and societal issues - triggered among other things by the protests in my country of origin, Iran, which are mostly initiated by women: unequal treatment, oppression, injustice.

Essentially, my art serves as a bridge connecting the ancient to the contemporary, the past to the present, and the East to the West. It is a visual narrative that transcends boundaries and invites introspection. Through my work, I hope to spark conversations and encourage viewers to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and acceptance in an ever-changing world.
